This week we begin Lent – a very special and important time in the church. On Wednesday we will start our journey toward Easter with our Ash Wednesday liturgies and it is at this point we are reminded that God’s forgiveness and mercy is always there for us.

The Ashes remind us that we can begin again and let go of the mistakes we’ve made. Think this week about what Lent will mean for you, what will you do and how will you experience God’s mercy?

We start with the Sign of the Cross.

Lord, thank you for forgiveness that your love brings. Amen.

We finish with the Sign of the Cross.

Today is Pancake Day! Or Shrove Tuesday as it’s sometimes known – but what’s it all about?

One of the most difficult things to do is flip your pancakes when making them so maybe today spend some time thinking about the things you’re going to “flip over” during lent and what you’re going to do this year to get ready for Easter!

Lord, help Lent to be a time of renewal. Amen

We finish with the Sign of the Cross.

So Lent has begun – but do you know what it’s all about?

Lord, help us to understand and engage with the season of Lent. Amen.
