This week at Blessed Robert Widmerpool School, Y6 are leading us through some thoughts in our word of the week video on the theme of…

Vocation comes the Latin word vocare meaning “to call”. A vocation is a calling from God.

We all have a primary vocation to follow Jesus Christ. How we live out our call to holiness through one of these options is our secondary vocation. Some people live out their call to holiness in married life, single life, and some in religious life as either priests, sisters and nuns, or brothers.

Vocations Team – Video / Poster Competition 2021

The Vocations Team in the Nottingham Diocese invite you to support a team of pupils from your school to enter our Diocesan Vocations Competition. The winning submission in each county of the diocese wins a special trophy for their school. Winning entries will be used throughout the diocese for the promotion of Vocations. You can view the winning entries from 2019 from Lincolnshire and Derbyshire on our website:

The challenge is for your school to submit a short Vocations video with an accompanying poster, on the theme: ‘God is calling. Are you listening?’ Videos are to be no longer than 2 or 3 minutes, fast paced, raising questions for discussion, with a full colour accompanying poster.

Good luck!

Vocations Video Competition!
