Heart of the Gospel

“If one part of the body suffers, all the other parts suffer with it; if one part is praised, all the other parts share its happiness”

(Paul’s first letter to the Corinthians 12:26)

FORGIVE “If you want peace of heart”

FORGET “If you want peace of mind”

FORGO “If you want peace of the body”

FOR GOD “If you want peace and success for life”

“Be tolerant with one other and forgive one another, whenever any of you has a complaint against someone else. You must forgive one another just as the lord has forgiven you.”

In this scripture God is challenging us to give up any grudges that we may have as they can destroy relationships. forgiving is good for our souls and our bodies. When we forgive, we feel better physically; have lower amounts of anger and fewer symptoms of anxiety and depression which help us maintain more satisfying and long-lasting relationships.

  • Are you holding any grudges today?

God says to you today, give up your grudges to forgive them so you may have peace in your heart.

“Of course, my brothers and sisters, I really do not think that I have already won it; the one thing I do, however, is to forget what is behind me and do my best to reach what is ahead. So, I run straight towards the goal in order to win the prize, which is God’s call through Christ Jesus to the life above.”

If you want peace of mind or you want to make changes in your life, commit yourself to forgetting your failings.

That is why Paul said, “I forget about what lies behind.” As we all know Paul had a bad past and a lot that was behind him. By his own admission he said, “I am chief of sinners.”

He could have walked around all his life with this burden of guilt crippling him but if he did, he would never have become the great apostle we know and love today.

“To conclude you must all have the same attitude and the same feelings; love one another as brothers and sisters and be kind and humble with one another.

Do not pay back evil with evil or cursing with cursing; instead, pay back with a blessing, because a blessing is what God promised to give you when he called you.” (1 Peter 3:8-9)

If you want peace of body give up fighting, do not repay evil for evil or insult with insult but with a blessing. Sometimes being silent is more of an effective way to solve the problem.

When in trouble or you are feeling anxious give your problems to God. Trust in God and he will help you to be successful and at peace.

“Leave all your worries with him, because he cares for you.” (1 Peter 5:7)

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart. Never rely on what you think you know. Remember the Lord in everything you do, and he will show you the right way. Never let yourself think that you are wiser than you are; simply obey the lord and refuse to do wrong”.

(Proverbs 5:8)

Bless me with the wonderful power of forgiveness, give me grace to unconditionally forgive those who have done me wrong.

Give me strength to let go of all ill-will, the strength to forgive myself of my own failings and sins, knowing that you have already forgiven me.

Free me of all anger, bitterness and hate.
