On the 4th of October, the feast day of St Francis of Assisi, we celebrated our St Francis of Assisi Hub Mass at OLSE Church, where we were joined by St Patrick’s School, English Martrys School, Blessed Robert Widmerpool School, The Becket School and St Edmund Campion School. Fr Jonathan Cotton, Fr Joe Wheat and Fr Michael Brown all joined us for the celebration!

Every school had a special part of Mass to plan, our year 6 wrote the bidding prayers.

We sang lots of hymns and our recessional hymn was ‘We are Called’, in the Mass we reflected on how we are called to look after the beautiful creation God made, just like St Francis of Assisi did.

Every school brought an item which represented the ways in which we are saving our wonderful world, we brought our eco warrior card. In the eco team we meet and talk about the different ways we can save the earth from pollution.

Let us know in the comments below what you are doing to protect God’s amazing planet!
