The word of the week is Rosary!

October is a month dedicated to the Holy Rosary. On Wednesday we celebrate Our Lady of the Rosary and it’s a reminder that we can look to Mary not only as an example, but also as a friend who prays with us when we need her the most.

Think about who you want to pray for at the moment and maybe take some time this week to come to pray with Mary.

Click on the different tabs below to explore this week’s prayer resources. We hope you have a great week!

Remember to comment in the comments box below and let us know how you get on in your form groups 🙂

Well done for all the comments so far, especially 7P who have won lots of house points by commenting every week so far!

Let us start our prayer by making the Sign of the Cross.

This week our Word of the Week is Rosary! Remember when we pray the rosary we are praying to God, with Mary. In this way, it is a really comforting prayer because we know Mary is with us, supporting our prayers.

Our WOTW video this week is created by Trinity school’s Year 10 Chaplaincy Team.

When you have watched the video below, we want you to pray a Hail Mary in your form in recognition of the Holy Rosary.

We end our prayer by making the Sign of the Cross.

We hope you have a great Monday!

Let us start our prayer by making the Sign of the Cross.

The Hail Mary is the prayer most said when praying the Rosary. In fact, if you pray all five decades of the Rosary in one go, you end up saying the Hail Mary prayer 53 times!

Sometimes when we are so familiar with a prayer and we say it so often we forget its true meaning and significance.

The staff and students at Trinity School have filmed themselves saying the Hail Mary in the video below. Check out the video and take some time to reflect on this prayer.

Comment below what line of the Hail Mary prayer means the most to your form.

Dear Lord,

Help us to open our hearts and minds to your words.

May we always remember to speak to you, so that we may feel your goodness and know your friendship.

Amen

We end our prayer by making the Sign of the Cross.

Let us start our prayer by making the Sign of the Cross.

Tomorrow we have our Hello Yellow Friday where we are encouraged to wear something yellow! Given the difficult time that we have all potentially been through recently, it would be great to see a sea of yellow on that day showing our solidarity and support for promoting positive wellbeing.

For you guys that means replacing an item of your uniform with something yellow or accessorising with an item of yellow.

Think about how you can help and support those around you who may be struggling.

If you feel like your struggling, maybe you could make a promise to reach out and talk to someone.

Always remember that you have a friend in God and can tell Him anything. God knows how we are feeling before we even think it or say it.

Check out the Action for Happiness October Calendar…could your form group complete an action each day?

    Dear Lord,

Give me the strength to reach out and talk when I am feeling low.

Give me the courage to help others who are need, to ask people how they are and genuinely listen to their answer.

May we be mindful of others and share kindness and love.

    Amen.

We end our prayer by making the Sign of the Cross.

Let us start our prayer by making the Sign of the Cross.

Today is the CAFOD Harvest Fast Day! This year we are focusing on the importance of water, and how some people don’t have the access to clean water that they so desperately need. Watch the video below to see an overview of the campaign.

In your form rooms this week and next week, take some time to explore the CAFOD website: https://cafod.org.uk/

CAFOD is one of school charities and it is important that we support the communities who CAFOD help by donating and raising awareness for the charity.

We would like every form to make a pledge/promise to help others and to comment it below. We’re going to make these into a CAFOD display, so it’s really important that you remember to comment it with your form name!

“God, who called you out of darkness
into his own marvellous light.” 1 Peter 2:9

God, you call us out of darkness.
      May we hear your voice
in the cry of our brothers and sisters in crisis.
As you walk alongside us always,
may we walk beside one another
      listening and responding in love.
Shine the light of your compassion through us,
      dispelling chaos, fear and despair.
Breathe hope and courage into all our hearts
as we work together to rebuild once more.
Strengthen us, Lord, and keep us steadfast.
Bring healing and comfort to all
and lead us renewed into your marvellous light.
We ask this through Christ our Lord,
      Amen.

We end our prayer by making the Sign of the Cross.

We hope you have a great Friday and weekend ahead 🙂
