When we put knowledge and understanding together we gain wisdom. Wisdom comes from experience and learning from our mistakes – it takes time! Think about the people in your life who are wise, what can you learn from them? How can you use the experiences you’ve had in the past to help you make wise decisions in the future?

We start with the Sign of the Cross.

How will you show your wisdom to others this week?

We end by making the Sign of the Cross.

Wisdom can be a tricky concept to define. Watch this video to help you to explore this theme further.

One of the examples of wisdom given in the video was applying God’s teachings to your own life.

Tell the person next to you a teaching from the Bible that you try to apply in your life.

Do you love your neighbour?

Do you turn the other cheek?

Do you treat your friends as precious treasure?

If you’re not feeling very wise then remember these words from the Bible:

But if any of you lack wisdom, you should pray to God, who will give it to you; because God gives generously and graciously to all.

James 1:5

Take some time to watch this video and to reflect on the scripture below.

“So then, anyone who hears these words of mine and obeys them is like a wise man who built his house on rock. The rain poured down, the rivers flooded over, and the wind blew hard against that house. But it did not fall, because it was built on rock.

“But anyone who hears these words of mine and does not obey them is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. The rain poured down, the rivers flooded over, the wind blew hard against that house, and it fell. And what a terrible fall that was!”

Matthew 7:24-27

What are the strong foundations that you build yourself upon?

Do you always follow the wise words and advice of others or do you go your own way?

We end with the Sign of the Cross.

Take some time to reflect on Sunday’s Gospel reading.

Would you have had the faith to trust in Jesus when he said that the girl was only sleeping?Questioning your faith and understanding can be a sign of wisdom. What questions do you have?

We end with the Sign of the Cross.
