EasterWelcome back! It’s the start of a brand new year and what lies ahead is new challenges and opportunities for everyone. Whether you’re starting The Becket today or coming back after several years, today is a chance to start again and these few days are going to help us all think about the start that we want to make!

We’re also going to be telling you about some exciting changes and chances to get involved with the school chaplaincy throughout the school throughout the week too.

Finally, the House system will begin again with Patrick as reigning champions! With only 2 points bringing them victory last year this year promises to be another great competition!

We begin with the Sign of the Cross

Welcome back! There’s loads going on this term and we thought the best way to tell you about it all was with this…

So as you can see lots to do this term and lots of ways to get involved

Spend a few moments looking through your planner and talking with the person next to you about what you could do this year to get involved with chaplaincy.

Lord, help us to feel a part of our community and to make a good start to the year. Amen.

We finish with the Sign of the Cross

Lourdes-4Yesterday you heard about the new living stones project going on in school – today it’s your job to help lay down the first bricks!

Your job is to personalise your brick to celebrate your form – you can draw each other, get everyone to sign it or do anything you like – just make it personal and make it awesome!

Your first job is to collect your blank “brick” from the Chapel. They are in the letter holder by the entrance so go grab one and while someone has gone to collect it, think about what you want your form’s brick to look like!

You don’t have to finish today – you might just want to talk about ideas but when it’s done bring it down to Tom or Marsha in the Chapel!

If you get chance have a read of the scripture around the outside and see if it gives you any ideas!

Lord, help us to build up our community. Amen.

We finish with the Sign of the Cross.

Lourdes-5As you heard on Thursday, we are going to use the Scripture from this Sunday’s Gospel to reflect on every Friday. You can use your planners to to help you understand the scripture.

Matthew 18:15-20

‘If another member of the church sins against you, go and point out the fault when the two of you are alone. If the member listens to you, you have regained that one. But if you are not listened to, take one or two others along with you, so that every word may be confirmed by the evidence of two or three witnesses. If the member refuses to listen to them, tell it to the church; and if the offender refuses to listen even to the church, let such a one be to you as a Gentile and a tax-collector. Truly I tell you, whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven. Again, truly I tell you, if two of you agree on earth about anything you ask, it will be done for you by my Father in heaven. For where two or three are gathered in my name, I am there among them.’

Have a read of the explanation in your planner and answer the questions with your friends.

Finish the morning by praying the prayer you find at the bottom of the page.
