Prayer Resources – Rosary

This week we enter into October – a month dedicated to the Holy Rosary. It’s a reminder that we can look to Mary not only as an example, but also as a friend who prays with us when we need her the most. Think about who you want to pray for at the moment and maybe take some time this week to come to the Chapel and pray with Mary.

We start with the Sign of the Cross.

Check out this week’s ‘Word of the Week’ in the coming weeks it’ll be your turn to host our weekly show! Don’t forget to check out the notices at the bottom of the screen and leave your comments below!

Take some time as a form to think about those people who need our prayers this week and write them in the comments box below.

Lord, thank you for Mary’s example of support – help us to be like her. Amen.

We finish with the Sign of the Cross.

We start with the Sign of the Cross.

The Rosary can sometimes be a bit confusing. It’s a very old tradition that dates back to St. Dominic. But Can it be useful today? Who better to explain just what the Rosary means than the actual Pope himself!

  • In your forms take a quick poll to see if anyone has ever prayed a Rosary.
  • Discuss – can praying like that actually help us connect with our faith?
  • Take a vote in your form as to whether the Rosary can be useful and post your results below to see what we think as a school.

Lord, help us to find the best ways to pray, Amen.

We finish with the Sign of the Cross.

We Start with the Sign of the Cross.

The Rosary is an interesting method of prayer as it uses alot of repetition to help us focus our mind. It also helps us focus our bodies by giving us something hold and do. Prayer, as we know from our school motto can be more than just words, it can be actions – to work is to pray. Last Friday we prayed in support of the young people in Our Lady of Hope parish in Bunkpurugu – check this out!

Discuss how it feels seeing everyone doing something so powerful as a community to help other people – does that feel like a form of prayer?

As a form we’d like you to write a message of support to the young people in Bunkpurugu which we’ll send of to Fr. Amani and the young people. Write your message and leave it in the comments box below.

Lord, thank you for the opportunity to help and support those in need through our prayers and actions. Amen

We start with the Sign of the Cross.

Update: We’ve not had time to film this week’s video but there is something you can read instead…

You can read the amazing comments and discussion that’s taken place in the comments section. We’ve had more comments this week than ever and it’s been amazing – hopefully we can keep it up!

Have a look at what the other forms have been praying for any if you’ve not added something yet, then maybe you could add something this morning.

If you have added something don’t be afraid to update your comments and further the discussion. Scripture videos will be back next week!

Lord help us to listen and respond to your word. Amen
