This week we have our fourth PSHCE stop the clock session. It’s P4 on Thursday and it will focus this year on People’s Rights and Responsibilities. This means we focus not only about the things we’re allowed to do but also about the things we should be doing for those people around us and in our communities.

We’re also going to continue to think about Prayer as we continue Lent and how that can affect our lives and inspire us to do good things for those around us.

Prayer is something that can be really hard to understand, let alone do. Sometimes it comes naturally but usually it’s something we forget about and don’t find time for. Prayer is simply a chat with God and you don’t need to use the right words, you don’t even need to use any words, you just just need to put aside some time to be with God. It’s amazing what a difference a few minutes a day can make – try it for yourself this week!

It’s careers week! Check out the activity below!

We start with the Sign of the Cross.

Lord, help us to be inspired through prayer to do the right thing. Amen.

We finish with the Sign of the Cross.

It’s been a while since we talked about Brexit, but over a year on, the effect of people rights and responsibility are finally becoming clear.

Have a watch of this:

Some quick questions:

What do you think the rights of EU nationals in Britain and for UK citizens in Europe?

What responsibility do the government have to get a good deal?

What responsibilities do we have to engage with whats going on?

As before, put your comments in the box below to join the debate!

Lord, help recognise our rights and responsibilities. Amen.

Our faith tells us that we have a responsibility to those around us. This year our Yr 12’s will be going to Lourdes to help those less fortunate. They are living up to their responsibility to help others, but how can we live up to our responsibility to help them?

Firstly, you can sponsor them. If you’ve got any spare change bring it down to the Atrium today and shoow your support.

Secondly, you can write a message of support as a form and leave it in the comments box below. that way you can help them help others.

Lord, help us to meet the challenges that we face in live with courage. Amen
