The third week of Advent is centered on joy. We celebrate Gaudete Sunday to remind us of the Joy of Christmas that is almost here. It’s a great chance to think about what brings us joy in our lives and to give thanks for it. It’s also an opportunity to reflect on how we can bring joy to those around us and make the world a more joyful place for everyone!

We start with the Sign of the Cross.

The word of the week this week is Joy!  At All Saints’, we have been considering what brings us joy.

What brings you joy and how can you bring joy to others during Advent?

We end by making the Sign of the Cross.

We start with the Sign of the Cross.

This Christmas, through Jesus, we have Joy!

Take a minute to consider the joy you feel at Christmas time.  Are you guilty of forgetting this joy at other times of the year?

Your mission: See the good in everything! We live in God’s beautiful creation for 365 days a year.  For the next 365 days try to think of one joyous thing that has happened that day and be thankful for it.

We end with the Sign of the Cross.

We join the All Saints’ choir in rehearsal as they prepare for the upcoming ‘Nine Lessons and Carols’.

As you listen to the choir, take time to reflect upon what brings you joy.

Joy doesn’t always come from the easiest decisions or paths.  Often joy can come from hard work, perseverance and loyalty.

We end with the Sign of the Cross.

Take some time to listen to the lyrics of this song and to think about our charitable actions during this Advent season.

Lord,

When we encounter You, we encounter Your teachings.  Help us to live out these teachings by helping those less fortunate than ourselves.  Help us to donate our time and energy to the many fundraising events taking place across all of our schools, in a bid to allow all to encounter You through our actions.

Amen

As always we take time in our week to listen to Sunday’s Gospel.
