Welcome back! Hopefully you all had an amazing Christmas! On Sunday we celebrated the feast of the Epiphany – when the wise men from the east brought gifts of Gold, Frankincense and Myrrh to the baby Jesus. For us it’s an opportunity to think about the gifts we’ve been given and how we use them to serve God. It’s also a chance to give thanks for all those who give so much to us every day. ”

We start with the Sign of the Cross.

As you heard in the video, have a talk and reflect on what you can do differently this year, maybe you could think of a form activity that you could do to make a change in 2018.

Lord, thank you giving us a chance to change. Amen.

We finish with the Sign of the Cross.

We start with the Sign of the Cross.

Take a look at this picture. It’s the Nativity scene from St. Patrick’s Cathedral in New York. Can you spot anything that looks a little out of place? (Leave your answers in the comments box or do a bit of Googling to find out about it!)

In our Advent Liturgies we wanted you to feel part of the story but the question for you today is this:

If you had to bring a gift for the baby Jesus today what would you get him?!

The wise men brought gifts that told of his life to come but actually, do you think Mary and Joseph would have preferred a baby grown or some cuddly toys?

Think as a form as the best gift for the infant Jesus and the best answer will win a prize, again leave them in the comments box below!

Lord, help us to give the gift of ourselves to Jesus, Amen

We finish with the Sign of the Cross.

The gifts the wise men brought would have been very valuable at the time, but as the video suggests maybe not as useful today.

Have a think about the best and worst gifts that you received. – How did they make you feel?

bow your heads, close your eyes and spend a few moments in silence thinking about something you can give this week (it doesn’t have to be something you buy) and the effect it would have on the person you give it to.

Lord help us to give gifts that really make a difference. Amen

As always we take time to listen to a reading of Sunday’s Gospel to help us reflect on what God is saying to us.

Take some time to think about what God is saying to you.

Lord, help us to listen to your word and hear your voice in our lives. Amen
