This week we think about our school community.

Our open evening this week reminds us that our community changes and grows all the time and every person who comes in brings something special and unique.

How can you look out for those in our community who we sometimes overlook – how can we show them they are an important part of our school community?

Don’t forget, if it’s not raining this time, we’ll be filming our big dance in the plaza at break time on Monday. Come straight down to the Plaza and get your dance on! Check Wednesday’s prayer resources for the routine if you want a last minute practice and don’t forget it’s the last chance to get in the video individually during lunch time on Monday too!

We begin with the Sign of the Cross

It’s time for our “Word of the Week” watch the video above and check out for the notices at the bottom of the screen – don’t forget to leave your comments below!

Think about the task in the video – how can we be an effective member of our community?

Also don’t forget to follow us this week @b3inspirational on Twitter or be.inspirational.becket on Instagram

Lord, thank you for the gift of our community. Amen.

We begin with the Sign of the Cross

At the moment the video below is still Justin Timberlake, but check back on Wednesday morning to see our version!

If you’re viewing this on Tuesday morning then have a think about the following question:

What makes you feel a part of our school community?

Talk with the person next to you and then discuss as a class the things that help you feel like you belong. This week will be your first AoW as a house for the new year – could you do something extra this year for your house community?

On Wednesday have a watch of the new video and think about what this school means to you!

Lord, help us celebrate all the different parts of our community. Amen.

NEXT STEPSWe begin with the Sign of the Cross

As you know, we are going to use the Scripture from this Sunday’s Gospel to reflect on every Friday. If you are in KS 3/4 You can use your planners to to help you understand the scripture.

This year we want to bring the Word of God to life on a Friday morning to help us reflect and understand scripture a little bit better, so with the help of our school community a different person each week will read our Gospel and share what it means to them. Use your planners to help you discuss and explore the story further.

Luke 16:13
“No servant can be the slave of two masters; such a slave will hate one and love the other or will be loyal to one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money.”
Is there anything that gets in the way of your relationship with God? How can you make more room for God in your life?

Lord, help us to listen to and follow your word. Amen.

We finish with the Sign of the Cross.
