Welcome!

This week we welcome hundreds of people into our community. Some have been at our school for many years, others are here for the very first time and, as part of the family of God, we should make sure that we make each and every person feel welcome!

What can we do to help every member of our community feel welcome – how can we help each other to settle in for a new year?

We start with the Sign of the Cross.

So, don’t forget to choose your 2 Form Reps for the year and make sure you make everyone feel welcome this week!

We end by making the Sign of the Cross.

We start with the Sign of the Cross.

To be able to fully welcome people we need to get to know them. In your forms now take some time to answer this questions:

Favourite colour?

Favourite food?

The best memory over the summer holiday?

The thing you are most looking forward to this year?

How can we act out our faith to welcome others?

Let us know your answers in the comments below

We start with the Sign of the Cross.

One way to make everyone feel welcome is to make sure that they are all included! Jesus instructed the disciples to go out to the whole world so that everyone was included:

Go, then, to all peoples everywhere and make them my disciples: baptise them in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, and teach them to obey everything I have commanded you. And I will be with you always, to the end of the age.

Matthew 28: 19-20

Each and every one of us is called to be a follower of Jesus and to spread the Good News – we can do this at Church, at home, in school and everyday in our form rooms!

Your tutor will have a copy of the Word of the Week rota where you can sign up as an individual/ in pairs to lead the Be Inspirational Prayer Resources in your form everyday. If you need any help please come down to the chapel!

Spend some time completing this rota now so that you can follow Jesus’ mission and can welcome others with His message!

As always we take time in our week to listen to Sunday’s Gospel.

So spend some time now thinking about your aims for the year ahead and thinking about how some of your ‘going back to school’ rituals will help you to achieve.
