This week marks the second week of Advent already! The theme for the second week of Advent, and for our word of the week, is PEACE. There are lots of people around the world trying to promote peace and harmony in many different ways, and this week we’ll look at some of them and what they do.
Act of Worship Rota for this week is: Monday: B in Hall and E in Chapel. Tuesday: N in Hall and P in Chapel. Wednesday: R in Hall and T in the Chapel.
Edmund House Mass is on Wednesday period 5! Edmund students make your way to the Chapel at 2.00pm on Wednesday at the end of period 4. Make sure every form in Edmund has their Mass parts prepared with readers!
We have our Friday voluntary lunchtime Mass at 12.15pm this week. We will be joined by some of our friends from St Patrick’s Primary School and Fr Paul Newman! Remember if you are coming to Mass on Friday at 12.15, you need to get a Mass pass from the Chapel. Come straight to the Chapel at the end of period 3 and we will eat our lunch altogether after Mass. All staff and students are welcome!
Y12 and 13- get your Lourdes letters from the Chapel if you are interested in joining us on our Pilgrimage and hand in your slips ASAP!
Lourdes Fundraising Meeting on Wednesday lunch time for Y12 and 13s!
Today we’re going to take some time out and try and find some peace in our own lives.
“Don’t worry about anything, but in all your prayers ask God for what you need, always asking him with a thankful heart. And God’s peace, which is far beyond human understanding, will keep your hearts and minds safe in union with Christ Jesus.”
Play the video below and listen to the music. Either close your eyes or look at the lyrics and spend some time in quiet prayer and thought.
Comment below ways that we can find moments of peace in our own daily lives.
Today is a bit different. All you need to do is spend five or so minutes in silence. This can be really hard, and after the first two minutes it’s tempting to laugh and be uncomfortable. But sometimes, to find true peace, we need the silent time to just be within ourselves. If you have time, challenge yourselves and just see how long you can be silent and unmoving. Whilst being silent, take some time to pray about peace both within yourself and around the world.
