On February 11th 2019, we had a Mass in school with Father John Martin to celebrate the Feast of Our Lady of Lourdes. The feast day is all about celebrating when Mary appeared to a young girl called Bernadette. When the Virgin Mary appeared to Bernadette she was told to dig in the ground and wait for a spring to come up. It was later told to her that this spring would have healing properties. Since then many miracles have been recorded and it is a massive pilgrimage site for Christians all around the world. The reason we went out of our way to have a full school Mass on this day is because it was to mark the day where all of the schools in the Our Lady of Lourdes trust come together as one. We had an amazing time, there was lots of joy and especially lots of singing, we all sang our favourite song at the end, If I Were a Butterfly. Arlyn and I had a great time altar serving and from the looks on everyone’s faces they also looked like they were having a great time too. The readers were fantastic, the Mass was full of prayer and joy and everyone gave 100% effort and participation.
