“Put into practice what you learned and received from me, both from my words and from my actions. And the God who gives us peace will be with you.

PHILIPPIANS 4:9

Our Word of the Week this week is

LEARNING

Being able to learn is something that we all need to do, but it takes a lot of time and a lot of patience. Being a follower of Jesus requires us to be open to deepening our knowledge and relationship. Jesus teaches us through His words and His actions. But He is not a dictator, we have to listen and learn from His example.

For all of us to grow on this journey of discipleship with Jesus, we need to make sure that we are listening to what Jesus tells us through the Scriptures, and need to make sure we take notice of His actions. But we also need to add love into all of our observations so we can learn and show His love to others through our words and our actions.

PRAYER

Let us pray:

O God,
who have been pleased to increase Your adopted children in all the world,
and who made the blood of the Martyrs Saint Andrew Kim Taegon and his companions
a most fruitful seen of Christians,
grant we may be defended by their help
and profit always from their example.

Through our Lord Jesus Christ, Your Son,
who lives and reigns with You in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
God, for ever and ever.

Amen.

TRANQUIL TUESDAY

Today, take some time to listen to the song ‘Potter’s Hand’ and reflect on how we learn from Jesus moulding us into His disciples. Tranquil Tuesday is being led by Year 7 at Christ the King.

How do we learn from Jesus?
How does Jesus take, mould, use, fill, hold, guide, lead and walk with you in your life?

PRAYER

Let us pray:

O God,
who with untold mercy were pleased to choose as an Apostle Saint Matthew, the tax collector,
grant that, sustained by his example and intercession,
we may merit to hold firm in following You.

Through our Lord Jesus Christ, Your Son,
who lives and reigns with You in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
God, for ever and ever.

Amen.

WEDNESDAY WORD

What is God saying to us?
What lessons can we take from this?
How can we put it into practice?

PRAYER

Let us pray:

O God,
who founded all the commands of Your sacred Law upon love of You and of our neighbour;
grant that, by keeping your precepts,
we may merit to attain eternal life.

Through our Lord Jesus Christ, Your Son,
who lives and reigns with You in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
God, for ever and ever.

Amen.

Let us pray:

Almighty ever-living God,
who by a singular grace,
gave the Priest Saint Pius a share in the Cross of Your Son and,
by means of His ministry, renewed the wonders of Your mercy,
grant that through his intercession we may be united constantly to the sufferings of Christ,
and so brought happily to the glory of the resurrection.

Through our Lord Jesus Christ, Your Son,
who lives and reigns with You in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
God, for ever and ever.

Amen.

SCRIPTURE REFLECTION

Today’s Scripture reflection comes from Joe, the chaplain at Christ the King.

PRAYER

Let us pray:

Grant, we pray, Almighty God,
that as in the mystery of the Incarnation the blessed and ever-Virgin Mary conceived Your Son in her heart before she conceived Him in the womb,
so we, Your pilgrim people,
rejoicing in her motherly care,
may welcome Him into our hearts and become a holy house fit for His eternal dwelling.

Through our Lord Jesus Christ, Your Son,
who lives and reigns with You in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
God, for ever and ever
.

Amen.
