Learning

Our Faith gives us the chance to learn so much more than you can ever find in a text book. It helps us to learn how to live and grow as people. When we learn about Jesus we can also learn about ourselves. Think about the biggest lessons you’ve learnt in your life and how you’ve changed because of them. What could you learn this week about your faith?
  • If you haven’t done so already, now is the time to change your ‘liturgical information poster’ on your form board.

We start our prayer with the sign of the cross…

Every Monday we start with our word of the week video.  This week’s word of the week is ‘LEARNING’.

The Bible states:

Proverbs 1:5

Let the wise hear and increase in learning, and the one who understands obtain guidance.

There is not one person on the earth who knows everything, we are always learning.  The way we learn is by asking, don’t be afraid to ask questions

What have you learned during lockdown or the summer holidays? What do you love learning about in school?  What is you favourite fact? Don’t forget to leave your thoughts in the comments box below 🙂

We will now head over to the youth service who are going to give us a run down on this week’s celebrations and feast days. 🙂

Today we celebrate the birthday of the blessed Virgin Mary. So often in life we put barriers up and say ‘no’ when we could say ‘yes’. Mary said yes and dedicated her entire life to Jesus’ mission. What opportunities will you say yes to today? Although we haven’t started up our extra-curricular groups yet, what sports clubs, chaplaincy team, school council or eco warrior groups will you be say ‘YES’ to? leave you comments in the box below 🙂

Proverbs 18:15

An intelligent heart acquires knowledge, and the ear of the wise seeks knowledge.

Today’s collective worship will see us listening to some praise and worship music. As the music states, we need God and each other to learn.  We have to surrender to our fears and have faith in ourselves to learn about the type of people we want to be and what we want to achieve in life.

Switch it up good and loud, let’s fill All Saints’ with the sound of music this morning!

Do you have any questions about your faith, or if your not religious, any questions about the things we do as a Catholic school that you don’t quite understand? Leave your questions in the comments box below 🙂

Hebrews 11:1

Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen

REFLECTION ACTIVITY

Read it. Think about it. Discuss it.

Who is the shepherd in your life? (Who teaches you about how you should live your life?)
Who is the person that keeps you on the right path? (Who challenges your behaviour and keeps you on the right path?)
Are you a shepherd to anybody else? (You have you taught things to? How did it make you feel?)

PRAYER

Lord, we ask that You guide us with Your Spirit and support us each day so that all we do shows Your love for everyone.
