“God will put His angels in charge of you to protect you wherever you go.

PSALM 91:11

Our Word of the Week this week is

JOURNEY

A journey is something that we are all on. Something that we cannot stop being on. Some of us are further than others. Some of us are going at different speeds. Some of us have different stops on the journey. We will meet different people along this journey. But we all have the same destination, eternal life with God. And this journey to God is a path that we are all walking down together. We may all be seeking, finding and trying to know and discover different things, but that is what unites us. Our vulnerability on this journey that we are not in charge. All we need is God’s angels protecting us and an open heart.

Today’s video is from The Briars and is a round up of the week and what’s happening!

Can you believe it’s only 9 months until Christmas!

How have you been journeying with God through Lent?  What things have you been doing to show God and others that you love them? Don’t forget to leave your comments below 🙂

Your light is the only light I need as I travel through life’s mystery. Amen.

We end by making the Sign of the Cross.

Today is a National Day of Reflection in the Catholic Church in England and Wales, to mark a year since the first national lockdown due to Covid-19.

As such, our resources today are purely the prayer below. What we would like you to do is spend a few minutes in silence reading the prayer and reflecting upon it’s meaning. Afterwards, pray it aloud together and finish with the Sign of the Cross.

The youth service have been journeying through the stations of the cross.  You can catch them all on their YouTube page every evening at 8pm.  The stations of cross tell the story of Jesus journey carrying the cross to his death on the cross, Christians often pray the stations during Lent leading up to Easter Sunday. Today we join them and Fr. Dave for the 4th station – Jesus meets his mother.

Some of us might not know our mum’s or have sadly lost them or don’t live with them.  We all have someone who loves us unconditionally though. Who in your life, loves you unconditional love like Mary loved Jesus?

Let us pray:

Your word the only voice I hear, that still small voice that leads me to the place where I should be.

Amen.

The Annunciation of the Lord – Solemnity

The Annunciation of the Lord is the announcement by the Archangel Gabriel to the Blessed Virgin Mary that she would conceive and bear a son who would be the Son of God, and she would call him Jesus.

But could Mary have said no? Could she have rejected this mission of God?

It may seem disrespectful to be saying this about the Blessed Virgin Mary, the Queen of Heaven. But if you take away the fact that she could have said no, then you take away that fact that she chose to say yes. The whole glory of the Annunciation is that Our Lady, a free human being at the time, chose to follow God. And that is what we celebrate and praise her for today.

WRITE YOUR OWN

Be creative and write your own prayer for your form to pray today based on the Annunciation. We find in the Scriptures that Mary’s answer to the Archangel was this:

“”I am the Lord’s servant,” said Mary; “may it happen to me as you have said.””

LUKE 1:38

What are you going to say “yes” to today?
Does this “yes” involve God’s plan for you?
What do you need to help you say “yes” to God?

PRAYER

Let us pray:

Your presence is the only company I need, as I walk this narrow road.

Amen.
