NOTICES:
Next week is the European Day of Languages on 26th September 2019. The Languages department are running a house cake competition and sale, bake a ‘European themed’ cake to win a fabulous prize! (Points will contribute to the house point system too!)
Things to remember: See a languages teacher on C floor to sign up and bring a list of ingredients included in the cake (no nuts please).

We are still filming for the school music video! If you would like to be involved, come down to the Chapel at break or lunch time OR come over and say hello if you see Joe and Ruth with the camera!

  • This week we think about our school community. Our community changes and grows all the time and every person who comes to our school brings something special and unique. How can you look out for those in our community who we sometimes overlook – how can we show them they are an important part of our school community?

We start with the Sign of the Cross.

WORD OF THE WEEK VIDEO

We end by making the Sign of the Cross.

Is there a community that you know of that needs support?

Trish-

“I am  happy because you brought us colours, pencils, pens, balls and food. One thing that made me really happy was that I was able to see auntie Charmaine. I am overwhelmed because you brought us a lot of stuff (books) this now means I may be able to go to England one day.”

How could you help another community?

MEDITATION

Start by getting in a comfortable position for YOU, not for anyone else, but for you. It is important to close your eyes, relax your shoulders, be aware of your inner core at work and reflect on the words that you are going to repeat. Pick a part of this prayer, repeat and reflect on it, saying it over and over again in your head. This phrase is called a MANTRA. See how it fits into your life.

Could community become a bigger part of your life?

How important are others to you?

How could you help others today?

Once you have done this, pray the full prayer. Start with a minute of meditation and build it up if you feel appropriate.

We end with the Sign of the Cross.

As always we take time in our week to listen to Sunday’s Gospel.
