“So there is no difference between Jews and Gentiles, between slaves and free people, between men and women; you are all one in union with Christ Jesus. If you belong to Christ, then you are the descendants of Abraham and will receive what God has promised.”

GALATIANS 3:28-29

Our Word of the Week this week is

BELONGING

Belonging is when we feel like we fit in with something or when we don’t feel out of place. It is important for us to know that whoever we are and wherever we are from, we all belong to something. And that is because what we belong to is Jesus. We all belong to Jesus and, therefore, receive His love, forgiveness and kindess through our union with Christ.

WORD OF THE WEEK

How can you show others that they belong?

We end by making the Sign of the Cross.

We start with the Sign of the Cross.

We’ve had some amazing entries to our ‘cake bake competition’ – keep them coming.  The bunting is coming in thick and fast too, they look great!

We belong to the All  Saints’ family and also God’s family!  Take a few minutes to watch the video full of inspirational quotes that show us the positives of being part of God’s family.  Treat it a bit like a meditation. Open your minds and hearts to the words on the screen and see how it can impact your life today to help us make every feel like they belong.

In what ways can you turn to God in times of need or happiness? Don’t forget to leave your thoughts in the comments box below 🙂

Saint Therese of the Child Jesus, Virgin, Doctor

Generations of Catholics have admired this young saint, called her the “Little Flower”, and found in her short life more inspiration for their own lives than in volumes by theologians.

Therese died when she was 24, after having lived as cloistered Carmelite for less than ten years. She never went on missions, never founded a religious order, never performed great works. The only book of hers, published after her death, was an brief edited version of her journal called “Story of a Soul.” (Collections of her letters and restored versions of her journals have been published recently.) But within 28 years of her death, the public demand was so great that she was canonized (made a saint).

It just goes to show that the little things in life can make a massive impact.  What little things can you do to make sure that you truly belong to the All Saints’ family? Could you join a team? Help others? Ensure that all of your homework is completed to the best of your ability?

Don’t forget to leave your thoughts in the comments box below.

“Remember that I have commanded you to be determined and confident! Do not be afraid or discouraged, for I, the Lord your God, am with you wherever you go.”

The Holy Guardian Angels

1) Every person in the world has a Guardian Angel (whether Christian or not)
2) Guardian Angels are appointed at the beginning of life
3) Guardian Angels have names, but God gives those names to them
4) We do not become Guardian Angels when we die
5) Guardian Angels are here to help us

How could you act as someone’s guardian Angel at school?

Today’s Scripture reflection comes from the chaplain at Christ the King, Joe.

STAY ALERT. STAY SAFE. BE KIND.

Have a great weekend everybody! 🙂
