This week we have the Year 8 Exodus Retreat day on Friday. Some of you will be in charge of leading this day and it’s a fantastic opportunity to look at our Church’s history and realise just how we are all still called to listen to God’s word and share it with others.
With that in mind, our ‘Word of the Week’ is: VOICE. This week will be focussed on how we use our voice to speak to and for other people. It’ll look at how we can be prophets and share God’s word with others and it will also explore those things we need to speak up about in our world.
(Don’t forget Thursday’s is still PSHCE so check that out at the bottom of the page too!)
The ‘Word of the Week’
Over the week give each person a chance to vote and then on Friday have a look at the results!
How well do you think you are listened to in school?
Express your thoughts in the comments box below.
Each day you’ll be able to see what other people are thinking in the other forms and have a chance to respond with your thoughts/comments. Come back to the discussion each morning if you can!
The power of speaking out.
Form time AoW should always start and end with the Sign of the Cross.
Each day when you’ve finished your discussion/activities spend a few moments in silence to think about the day ahead.
If anybody has anything or anyone they would like to pray for then don’t be afraid to share this with everyone before your end your form time AoW.
You might even want to create a prayer box that you can put intentions into each week if you don’t feel like saying it out loud.
We begin with the Sign of the Cross
This whole term is about exploring who we really are. Our voice – our opinion, can be a really important part of our identity and expressing that voice
This week we’re going to use the Key Process of “Think about it” to reflect on how we do PSHCE in school and whether it is a useful part of our form time activities.
If you get time we’d love to hear your feedback about PSHCE on a Thursday morning and what you like and don’t like – that way we can make better for everyone!
Also have a think about the positives and negatives of doing PSHCE every week in form time. Write them in the comments box below.
You can use the music below to provide a period of reflection to think about the questions OR just the “Be Yourself” topic as a whole!
Lord, help us to remember that we have a message worth sharing. Amen.
