So we’re back in week 2 and you’ll notice that the sites main colour has turned back to green. This is because we’ve entered back into “Ordinary time” in the church. It’ll only be like this for a few weeks until we start the season of Lent in February. Just because it’s “Ordinary” doesn’t mean it’s boring – it is still the start of a brand new year and there’s lots of exciting stuff going on this term.
With that in mind the word of the week is ‘Community’. This is a great time of year to think about how we can give and live as part of our school community. It’s made up of nearly 1500 people all of whom have a direct impact on the lives of each other. This week we’re going to think about how we live as part of our school community – what it gives us and what we can give back. It’s a time to reflect on how lucky we are to have amazing people around us and a time to realise that we can be those amazing people for someone else.
We’ve also got out House AoW’s this week. These will take place on Thursday and Friday and as usual, they’ll be a chance to look at the idea of community in a different way. They’ll also be a chance to see just how we’re all getting on and how we can get involved this coming term.
The ‘Word of the Week’
The needs of the many always outweigh the needs of the few in a good community – discuss!
Express your thoughts in the comments box below.
Each day you’ll be able to see what other people are thinking in the other forms and have a chance to respond with your thoughts/comments. Come back to the discussion each morning if you can!
What situation does you think this describes?
Talk with the people next to you – write your suggestions in the comments box below!
Form time AoW should always start and end with the Sign of the Cross.
Each day when you’ve finished your discussion/activities spend a few moments in silence to think about the day ahead.
If anybody has anything or anyone they would like to pray for then don’t be afraid to share this with everyone before your end your form time AoW.
You might even want to create a prayer box that you can put intentions into each week if you don’t feel like saying it out loud.
