person-110305_640Welcome back! Its the first week back after the Easter Holidays and some very big and exciting events in the life of the school are just around the corner! We’ve got the last few weeks of the year for Yr11 and Yr13, we’ve got the last House Mass and of course we start exam season!

Some of these things may not bring about a feeling of Joy – but when you think about it, staying happy and positive is sometimes all we need to overcome the challenges ahead and all we need to enjoy the opportunities that come our way.

We are bang in the middle of Eastertide – a time when we celebrate the Joy of Jesus’ resurrection. We need to use the special season in the Church to show the joy of our faith and bring a little bit more Joy to the world.

(Don’t forget Thursday’s is still PSHCE so check that out at the bottom of the page too!)

Check out this week’s ‘Word of the week’

It’s a time old question but can money really buy happiness?

[total-poll id=6359]

Over the week give each person a chance to vote and then on Friday have a look at the results!

BigQuestionThe most important thing in life is to be happy! – Discuss!

Express your thoughts in the comments box below.

Each day you’ll be able to see what other people are thinking in the other forms and have a chance to respond with your thoughts/comments. Come back to the discussion each morning if you can!

We spent the run up to Lenten fundraising looking at the joy that our money could bring. Today we get to see just how much joy we managed to share in school! Can making other people happy make us happy too?

imagesForm time AoW should always start and end with the Sign of the Cross.

Each day when you’ve finished your discussion/activities spend a few moments in silence to think about the day ahead.

If anybody has anything or anyone they would lie to pray for then don’t be afraid to share this with everyone before your end your form time AoW.

You might even want to create a prayer box that you can put intentions into each week if you don’t feel like saying it out loud.

We’re moving onto a new topic for out PSHCE this term – Right and Wrong.

We’re going to look a the law, crime and punishment and of course how we can make the decision about what is right and wrong in our world. We are also going to look at doing something about the things that we see as wrong and exploring the ways in which we can take action.

Have a look at this news story. All you are probably hearing about at the moment is the general election – a chance for people to decide what’s right and wrong. Use the Key Process of ‘Breaking News’ to discus what your MP does all day!

We begin with the Sign of the Cross

Lord, help us to make the good choices about what is right and wrong. Amen.

We finish with the Sign of the Cross.
