Press Play at 8:45am!

Welcome back! Hopefully you all had an awesome Easter break and had chance to relax and celebrate the most important time of the year! Don’t forget however that we are STILL in Eastertide so it’s still time to celebrate and be happy – even if we’ve come back to school!

This term is a really big term for lots of the members of our community. Our year 11’s have their last few weeks before study leave and then exams, and our Year 13’s will be finishing The Becket School forever! We need to make sure that we keep all those people feeling under pressure and facing challenging times in our prayers.

This week’s ‘Word of the Week’ is “Follow”. In our scripture stories in mass this weekend we hear about the apostles as they start to spread the good news. They are following Jesus’ commands and telling the whole world what they have witnessed. In these few years after Jesus’ death and resurrection Christianity exploded in the middle east and started to spread and an astonishing rate. It was down to those early followers and their strength, courage and determination that we have the Church in the world today.

Maybe this week is a chance to think about what and who we follow. What do we do to show that we follow a cause or a fashion and what sacrifices do we make to carry on being a follower? Think to about how you follow your faith – what difference does it make to your life? Take some time to reflect on what it means to be a follower of Jesus and what that can inspire and motivate us to do for others.

The ‘Word of the Week’

Think about how you show you’re a follower and don’t forget to follow us this week @b3inspirational (twitter) or be.inspirational.becket (Instagram)

Take your phones out and do it now!

Big Question

What or who do you follow and how do you show that you follow them?

Express your thoughts in the comments box below.

Each day you’ll be able to see what other people are thinking in the other forms and have a chance to respond with your thoughts/comments. Come back to the discussion each morning if you can!

We begin with the Sign of the Cross

Spend a few minutes thinking about these words.

If people followed you what would you want them to do and what difference in the world would you want them to make – write your thoughts in the box below.

Lord, help us to lead others to you. Amen.

imagesForm time AoW should always start and end with the Sign of the Cross.

Each day when you’ve finished your discussion/activities spend a few moments in silence to think about the day ahead.

If anybody has anything or anyone they would like to pray for then don’t be afraid to share this with everyone before your end your form time AoW.

You might even want to create a prayer box that you can put intentions into each week if you don’t feel like saying it out loud.

We begin with the Sign of the Cross

_89211496_de47This whole term is about Right and Wrong It’s going to look at issues around law and order and about our Justice system. Its going to look at why you can do some things and why you can’t do others and most importantly what that means for you!

This week use the Key Process of “Breaking News” to debate a story from the Easter Holidays. A council in Stoke decided to start charging Parkrun to use their park and it’s sparked a national debate about who’s in the wrong – what do you think?!

Lord, help us to listen to our conscience and be guided by our faith to understand what’s right and wrong. Amen.

We finish with the Sign of the Cross

Word Association

We begin with the Sign of the Cross

As you know, we are going to use the Scripture from this Sunday’s Gospel to reflect on every Friday. If you are in KS 3/4 You can use your planners to to help you understand the scripture.

This year we want to bring the Word of God to life on a Friday morning to help us reflect and understand scripture a little bit better, so with the help of our school community a different person each week will read our Gospel and share what it means to them. Use your planners to help you discuss and explore the story further.

This video has just been uploaded so refresh the page about 8:45am today and it should update!

Lord, help us to listen to and follow your word. Amen.

We finish with the Sign of the Cross.
