6th Form Prayer Resources – Kindness

This week we have the Teresa House Mass. St Teresa gives us an amazing example of how to live a life for God and she reminds us that we don’t always need to do big and impressive things to follow Jesus.

Her motto was “Do the little things well” and it inspires up to think about the small acts of love and kindness that we can do for others every day.

This week discuss as a class this week’s statement – don’t forget to have your voice heard. Is kindness a form a weakness?

It’s the deadline for the Briars and Lourdes trips this week on Friday. Come and See Tom & Marsha to find out more or check out the Lourdes video down the page! It’s also the first meeting for the new House Council (that means you House Captains!) During PSHCE P1 on Tuesday

Lourdes Info

6th form is a great chance to learn more about yourself and the wider church community. Through it’s many experiences you can really find out about who and what you are. You can also learn about our faith, regardless of what you believe. One experience that really puts into perspective is the Lourdes trip. Learn a bit more about it below with this video from the Youth Service. Don’t forget deposits are in by the end of this week and you can get letters from the Chapel.

Do good deeds really inspire others or does that just nor work in our society?

Spend a few moments thinking about who’s been kind to you and write a little note for them. Find an opportunity to give it to them, maybe even in secret, this week so the ripple of kindness comes back to them.

We begin with the Sign of the Cross

This whole term is about Being Yourself. It’s about celebrating identity and personality. It’s about seeing the glory of God reflected in each individual. It’s about respecting people for who they are and not judging others for being different.

This week use the Key Process of “Numb3rs” to explore just how many people express themselves through acts of kindness. See if you can work out the folwing question:

How many acks of kindness does the average person in the UK do every year?

Check out the answer at the bottom of the page![/symple_box]

Lord, help us to be kind to others. Amen.

We finish with the Sign of the Cross

Scripture Reflection

NEXT STEPSWe begin with the Sign of the Cross

As you know, we are going to use the Scripture from this Sunday’s Gospel to reflect on every Friday. If you are in KS 3/4 You can use your planners to to help you understand the scripture.

This year we want to bring the Word of God to life on a Friday morning to help us reflect and understand scripture a little bit better, so with the help of our school community a different person each week will read our Gospel and share what it means to them. Use your planners to help you discuss and explore the story further.

Luke 16:13
“No servant can be the slave of two masters; such a slave will hate one and love the other or will be loyal to one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money.”
Is there anything that gets in the way of your relationship with God? How can you make more room for God in your life? ts?

Lord, help us to listen to and follow your word. Amen.

We finish with the Sign of the Cross.
