The word inspire means “filled with the spirit” and there are times when all of us take inspiration from the events and people around us. St Paul was inspired by a vision of Christ to change his ways and be a better person on the road to Damascus – we too can be inspired by Christ to change for the better. This week, think about how you can be inspirational. How can you give others a great example or show others how to live their lives in a better way?

Make sure you use the last moments of each morning to come together in prayer, starting and finishing with the Sign of the Cross and reflecting on what your discussions mean for you today. You could also take the opportunity to share the situations and people that need your prayers this week with each other.

The media is full of stories about famous people abusing their power and setting a bad example. Are there any heroes any more? Is there anybody in the world that is still a true inspiration? Maybe we don’t need celebrities and people in the public eye to model how we should behave?

This week have a think about this:

Does the world still need people to be inspirational?

We start with the Sign of the Cross.

Even those who we find inspirational need a bit of support. It’s hard work being an example to other people and being the awesome person that people need you to be.

This morning we want you to think of someone in the school community who you find inspirational. It could be a teacher, a member of support staff, or someone who helps prepare our meals every day. It could a member of the site team, someone in the 6th form or someone who works behind the scenes.

Have a talk in your class about who inspires you and then write them a little note as a class outlining just what it is that makes them so inspirational. If you have time you could send 2 people to try and deliver it in person or give it to your form tutor to deliver it for you.

Remember everyone needs reminding that they can be an inspiration sometimes so try today to tell the people you value that they inspire you too!

Lord, help us to be brave enough to praise and affirm those around us.

We finish with the Sign of the Cross.

We’re back with our Friday Scripture Reflection – Have a watch below!

We haven’t got a scripture video this week but instead we can see this week’s Gospel brought to life. If you fancy doing a scripture video just come down to the chapel and you could be appearing next week!

Lord, help us to listen to your word and hear your voice in our lives. Amen
