This week we will see many of our community leave The Becket. Year 11 and Year 13 will leave this week and both have celebrations to offer to God all they have achieved and become.
This week think about how you can be with them in prayer and how you can offer them support. Every time a person leaves our community we can celebrate all the things they have given to The Becket and all of the amazing things that The Becket has helped them become.
It’s time for our “Word of the Week” watch the video above and check out for the notices at the bottom of the screen – don’t forget to leave your comments below!
In your forms – write in your planners to remind you to go home and find something to celebrate for next form time.
This week is all about celebrating the things that are important – watch this:
Then think about a hero you think need’s celebrating in school. Do something as a form to celebrate that person – you might make them a card or just send them an email letting them know how awesome they are!
We’re moving on to a new topic in our PSHCE this half term – This is a chance to explore what it means to do the right thing and the consequences when we don’t. It’s an opportunity to explore the legal system and how we make decisions as part of a democracy. An opportunity to explore what it means to be fair and how to affect situations where this is not the case.
Use the Key ‘Process of Put Yourself’ on the line to debate the following statement:
People who do the right thing all the time should be celebrated more than those who’ve done wrong and do right occasionally.
Remember there is no right or wrong answer – just an opportunity for debate!
Lord, help us to listen to our conscience and by guided by our faith. Amen.
We finish with the Sign of the Cross
We begin with the Sign of the Cross
As you know, we are going to use the Scripture from this Sunday’s Gospel to reflect on every Friday. If you are in KS 3/4 You can use your planners to to help you understand the scripture.
This year we want to bring the Word of God to life on a Friday morning to help us reflect and understand scripture a little bit better, so with the help of our school community a different person each week will read our Gospel and share what it means to them. Use your planners to help you discuss and explore the story further.
John 10: 9
I am the gate. Those who come in by me will be saved; they will come in and go out and find pasture.
How does knowing Jesus change the way you live your life? What opportunities do you think faith provides?
Lord, help us to listen to and follow your word. Amen.
