How often do we accept the challenges from God and follow Jesus? As Christians, we face many challenges along our faith journey and we can look to the inner strength that is given to us by God so that we are able to follow in the footsteps of Jesus.

Think this week about the challenges you face and who you can ask for help.

We start with the Sign of the Cross.

This week’s WOTW is brought to you by some of the Chaplaincy Team from The Trinity School! Have a look, and have a think about how you would feel in these circumstances.

Not all challenges are big, just like in the video. Choosing a drink may seem like a tiny thing, but sometimes it’s the smallest challenges that can affect us the most!

Dear Lord, help us to overcome the challenges we face this week. Help us to grow and learn from our challenges so that we can become the best versions of ourselves. We ask for your support and guidance as we make some challenging decisions this week.
Amen

We end by making the Sign of the Cross.

Challenges are difficult. But the feeling of elation when you overcome these challenges far outweighs the difficulty of it, and that’s what we need to focus on. Jesus overcame many challenges in his life, the biggest being his dying for us. Close your eyes and listen to the song, or watch the video, and spend some time thinking about what challenges you have in your life right now and how you are going to overcome them.

Today is all about self-reflection. One of the biggest challenges in life is balancing our time, and making sure that we fit some time for ourselves into our daily lives. Not only for ourselves, in fact, but for God too. In your forms, we want you to come up with a prayer. It should be a detailed prayer, all about challenges.

Your challenge, once it is written, is to then say that prayer at least twice a week in your form. Comment the prayer below too, so that if others want to they can try out it out as something different.

Have you ever been in a situation where you’re on a walk or driving somewhere and just when you think you’ve got over the massive hill, another one comes into view? Or maybe you solve one problem and then realise there’s a million others that you haven’t? We can often experience unexpected hurdles. When the disciples began preaching the Gospels, they would leave one place thinking that they had done their work, only to discover later that the community had fallen back into bad ways (such as in Corinth.)

Finding Nemo is a brilliant Disney film! In the clip, Marlin tries to come up with a creative solution to a challenge but his work isn’t quite done there…

What do you think was the biggest challenge in the clip? Can you think of a time that you thought you’d beaten a challenge, only to find another one right there? Comment your answers below!
